Day care centres threatened with closure

1.47.48pm GMT Tue 17th Nov 2009

Two Norwich day care centres and under threat of closure, Conservative controlled Norfolk County Council has announced. The Essex Rooms on Essex Street and the Silver Road Day Centre are both threatened.

Simon Wright, Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman for Norwich South, has written to the Council to object and is urging people to sign a petition and make their views known.

Simon said: "For the County Council to single out services for some of the most vulnerable people in our community to make quick budget cuts is unacceptable. It's vital that these local day care centres are kept for those who use them and need them."

Please sign Simon's petition and send him an email if you have additional comments.
