Purchase of Tattersett Business Park Under Investigation

2.47.12pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 11th Apr 2006

While the tyres dumped at Tattersett's business park remain - presenting both an eyesore and a hazard - we now learn that the purchase of the site is being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office.

The investigation will look at the possible creation of false tenancy agreements, overvaluing the site by falsely inflated rents.

If a prosecution follows from this investigation, then perhaps the bank will close the mortgage - thus bringing the site back onto the market.

One of the key reasons for the tyres still not having been removed is the frequent changes in ownership of the site, and the difficulties that authorities have had in making contact with the owners.Whatever happens, it must remain a priority to get the tyres removed.
